Day of Giving

Join fellow Roadrunners for the ninth annual MSU Denver Day of Giving on March 20! Day of Giving is a way for alumni, faculty, staff, students and community members to provide Roadrunners with the resources they need to rise to reach their goals in the classroom, in their careers and as leaders in their communities.

Last year, 1,500 donors helped raise nearly $270,000 to support scholarships, special projects, student-support services, athletics, student clubs/organizations and more. Roadrunner supporters like you help our students rise up and meet their goals!

Taking a bite out of food insecurity at MSU Denver

Donors raised over $5,600 for Rowdy’s Corner during Day of Giving 2024, ensuring hundreds of MSU Denver students can access essential food assistance. The marketplace offers a variety of resources, including fresh food that meets dietary and cultural needs, public benefits support and workshops like Cooking With Purpose, where Roadrunners gain kitchen skills and learn how to prepare nutritious and delicious meals using free ingredients found at Rowdy’s Corner.

More than just competition, Mock Trial is shaping future lawyers! This year, MSU Denver's “Team 1” went 5-2-1 at American Mock Trial Association Regionals, and Ashley Torrez & Jennifer Arreguin earned Outstanding Attorney awards! Dancing Toward Greatness

At MSU Denver, dance transforms lives! The funding raised during Day of Giving helps the Dance program grow and reach those who need it most, allowing students like Ashley to change the trajectory of her life and the lives of those in the community. “As a child and teenager who often felt lost, dance helped me stay on a solid path in school. Caring teachers taught me respect, discipline, hard work and resilience. Dance is more than just movement. It changes lives.” – Ashley R., Dance major

MSU Denver debaters shine as the University hosts a prestigious international tournament.

MSU Denver co-hosted the first round of the 2025 Transatlantic Dialogues, a competition created in 2019 by the Paris École de Guerre (War College) and George Washington University.  MSU Denver’s debate teams were among 16 from nine institutions, coming from as far away as Rutgers University in New Jersey and as nearby as Community College of Denver.  In the debate style used in the Transatlantic Dialogues, teams know in advance the topic they will be asked to discuss, meaning thorough background research is a must, said John Rief, Ph.D., associate professor of Communication Studies and advisor to MSU Denver Debate.
